1. What does Remote Connection Wipe do?
VPN Tracker 365 Remote Connection Wipe allows a Team Manager to remotely remove all team connections from a team member’s computer.
2. How much does Remote Connection Wipe cost?
Remote Connection wipe is included with all VPN Tracker 365 VIP plans.
3. What would I need Remote Connection Wipe for?
The majority of VPN users use their Mac out and about on the go. If a MacBook ever gets lost or stolen, there’s a risk that remote access to your network could fall into the wrong hands. With VPN Tracker 365 Remote Connection Wipe, you can prevent unauthorized VPN access by remotely deleting the connection.
4. Why use Remote Connection Wipe? Can’t I just lock a user out on my VPN gateway?
Remote Connection Wipe offers additional security by removing information about your VPN infrastructure. You may also want to use Remote Connection Wipe for compliance purposes or when working with external contractors.
Remote Connection Wipe also has the added benefit of working with any VPN connection, even those that don’t offer user authentication. This lets you to block VPN access for an individual user without having to distribute a new connection to your entire team.
5. How secure is it? What happens if your servers are blocked?
We designed VPN Tracker 365 Remote Connection Wipe to have multiple levels of security: In addition to an active wipe command, there are also multiple fallback mechanisms built into the system to verify a connection can only be used by authorized team members.
6. Can I wipe just one specific connection I have given to a user?
No, VPN Tracker 365 Remote Wipe always wipes all the connections given to the affected team member, rather than individual connections. This is by design, as it allows us to build the system without having any information about your connections. This gives you the convenience of remote access control, without exposing your connection information to cloud servers.
For more fine-grained control, you can take advantage of multiple teams and restrict access to specific connections via team membership.
7. Can I undo Remote Connection Wipe?
No. While you can reinstate a Team member, you’ll need to redistribute your team’s VPN connections to that user before they’ll be able to connect.
8. What are the System Requirements?
You can perform a Remote Connection Wipe on all your VPN Tracker 365 VIP team member plans. Make sure your users have the latest version of VPN Tracker 365 installed (version 9.1 or higher) and be sure to specify your team in the Export settings.
