Up until now it was just iPhone and iPad users who had access to the entire TV guide offered by TV Movie Flat Rate. The Tube users are now able to benefit from the TV Movie Flat Rate too.
We’ve just released The Tube 2.9.7, an update to our TV software. This small update prepares The Tube to be able to use the full features offered by TV Movie Flat Rate, which replaces the existing TV Movie EPG.
What this means for you is that with a single Flat Rate subscription, you can get the complete TV Movie guide on your iPhone, iPad and on your Mac via The Tube. One service, three great uses.
We’re adding to the usefulness of the TV Movie Flat Rate by combining TV Movie on the iPhone, iPad and in The Tube at the end of September. However, you can start using the service right away by buying it directly in the TV Movie apps for iPhone and iPad (in the App Store) or by going to the equinux Online Store.
We are proud to announce The Tube is now compatible with the Hauppauge WinTV HVR-930c / myTV-930c. We have also added a few new features, including sorting by number of viewers and displaying the remaining show length in the info display.

We have also made a few Snow Leopard tweaks including a faster and more reliable installer and have corrected a few minor user interface inconsistencies.
The Tube 2.9.4 is a free update for all registered users and Live TV 1.1 is available for 2.99 EUR in the European App Store and 3.99 USD in the US App Store.
Open up a whole new world of entertainment on your Mac and your iPhone with unencypted digital cable (DVB-C). Our innovative TV software The Tube now supports the tri-mode TV receiver HVR-930C from Hauppauge, one of the leading manufacturers of TV devices worldwide. Thus The Tube now gives you access to the three major TV standards in Europe – digital cable (DVB-C), digital over-the-air DVB-T (DTT) and analog TV.
And furthermore: Now you can also stream digital cable TV via WiFi to your iPhone using The Tube and Live TV. You can purchase the HVR-930C TV device together with The Tube directly in our Online store.

Thank you for your overwhelming interest in the Live TV and TubeToGo iPhone apps, we are pleased to announce that these two amazing iPhone apps are now available on the iTunes store. So download them now to turn your iPhone into the coolest TV in the house!
Live TV is the first iPhone app that totally integrates the iPhone with the TV experience! It allows you to stream live TV programs directly to your iPhone from your Mac whilst also enabling you to remotely start a recording in The Tube.
On top of that TubeToGo allows you to access your TV recordings on the go wherever you happen to be whilst also allowing you to program recordings for The Tube remotely so you will always have something to watch.
Apple seems to be very busy these days reviewing new apps. That’s cool as we see a lot of great app ideas reaching the plattform every day, like iFart Mega Fart, iFart Mobile or Furzmaschine. Too bad that our two apps TubeToGo and Live TV are still waiting in line for approval and show the status “In Review” for more than two weeks now.
To make waiting time more relaxed, we prepared a quick and simple video how Live TV works:
We keep you updated on the blog about the ongoing “Inauguration” process at the App Store.
The Tube 2.9.2 supports the upcoming iPhone App, Live TV, which is hopefully available soon. Apple is still reviewing the app. But we’re pretty sure that you’ll soon be able to enjoy all the TV channels that The Tube 2.9.2 receives – on your iPhone. Watch all available channels on your iPhone via Placeshift in the same WLAN as your Mac. And for all you Pinnacle PCTV nanoStick users out there – now you can join in on all the fun too! Check out the demo of The Tube!
Yes, that’s right! We’re giving you 15 days to see just how great our TV software is. Compatible with more than 20 different TV receivers, The Tube allows you to watch pause and record live digital and analog TV on your Mac. Search the EPG to find your favorite shows, stream them live to friends via iChat, and – of course – enjoy “Live TV” on your iPhone. The Tube is the only TV application with TubeTalk live chat and other incredible community features. Plus, you can watch and manage your TV recordings on your iPod or iPhone with TubeToGo.
Time to get excited about the improved & boosted version of The Tube.
Where to start?? We’ve gone more international. In addition to English, German and French, The Tube 2.8 is now also available in Italian and Spanish. It even speaks MobileMe, in case you’d like to store your TubeToGo webgallery there.
We’ve also fixed some glitches that could occur when switching channels or watching TV with the TubeStick (hybrid), and have improved EPG functionality, reception of local channels and a few other things as well.
Our Assignment was to do the bug-hunting-homework you gave us. Now you can check out the results with the free update, The Tube 2.8.
