Send smiles all around with Birthday Cards
Emails are great for sending birthday wishes. Being able to add your own photos creates a nice personal touch. Friendly greetings are fine too, but if you want show friends and family a little something extra, drag in a photo, share an inside joke and send smiles all around.
The new Birthday Cards collection adds 32 new birthday-themed designs to your Mail stationery. Great for poking fun at friends, you can drag their picture onto the face of an old man or lady. For a more traditional theme, send a cake or balloon greeting to a co-worker in the office.
Like all our other Stationery Pack collections, just choose your design and it’ll load right up in Mail. Add your personalized greeting and send them just like any other email. It’s a quick and easy option for sending birthday cards again and again.
Got a music library addiction? SongGenie 2.
After months of tears, sweat and repeated plays of Snap’s “I’ve Got The Power” (don’t ask), we’re now ready to release SongGenie 2.
This is one of our most exciting releases ever. Even as soon as you open the app and search for your first song, it feels slick. It could only be a Mac app.
If the first version of SongGenie was a nice app that did a good job (imagine us ruffling its hair and giving it a pat on the back), the new SongGenie 2 is cool app that does a great job. Building on the basic functions of identifying artists, song and album titles, SongGenie now looks to complete your music collection entirely.
You can search for lyrics, including a nifty web search function, so that you can display them on your iPod or iPhone on the go. Identify and apply genres, or get into detail with BPM and Sample Rate for true audiophiles. Using sorting categories and dropdown filters, you can really get to the heart of your missing music library info.
The bad news is, it’s all too easy to become maniacal about perfecting your collection. SongGenie 2 now includes a status panel which tells you exactly how far your collection has come. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. The good news is, SongGenie feels fun to use. Every little red flag brings you one step closer to collection perfection. Each notch further along the progress bar is OCD manna.
When you’re all finished, and you’ve checked over your shoulder to make sure no-one is watching, load up iTunes and congratulate yourself on a job well done.
Free update to TV Movie iPhone app
This morning our free update for TV Movie was made available by Apple for download on the iPhone App Store. This new version 2.2 has been developed to include built-in data storage, meaning once you’ve filled up on data, you can use the app completely offline. No need to load each channel separately. This should be great news for iPod touch users. It’ll also make downloading the TV guide a whole lot quicker.
The TV Movie update has been a while in coming. We’re reading the reviews with interest and the latest version already has an average of 4.5 stars in the App Store. The comments so far have been fantastic and we’re glad those users are finally getting the most out of their app. It’s a good start but we’d like to know what you think of it too.
Download the app for 79 cents on the App Store, or update the app for free. Don’t forget to write a review so others can read what you make of it.
